Who it's for

  • Deductors paying vendors who hold a 197 certificate
  • Accountants and CA firms tracking multiple certificates

What's inside

  • One row per certificate (number, section, rate, validity)
  • Certified limit vs amount utilised
  • Auto-calculated balance available
  • Active / Expired / Exhausted status with colour flags
  • Input cells open; formula cells locked & password-protected

How to use it

  1. Open the file and enable editing
  2. Enter each certificate's details in the white cells
  3. The balance and status update automatically
  4. Watch the status column — the normal rate revives once a certificate is expired or exhausted

FAQs

Where do I get the certificate number?
From the deductee's TRACES certificate issued under Section 197. Validate it on TRACES before applying the lower rate.

What happens when the limit is used up?
The tracker marks it Exhausted; from that point the normal TDS rate applies again.
